Japan-based JP Lease Products and Service has acquired two Boeing B777-200ER aircraft from AerCap Ireland and leased them to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The deal was finalised in late March and was arranged, structured and will be managed by Arena Aviation Capital, which also arranged and structured the debt financing provided by Deutsche Bank.
“We are proud and pleased to have added this high-profile investor to our growing client base. This entry into the Japanese Operating Lease market signifies a milestone in our development as an ambitious and serious lease manager.
“We are looking forward to explore the full potential brought by this new cooperation and we are excited to have entered into the Japanese market,” said Patrick den Elzen, Arena Aviation Capital managing director.
“We see real growth of demand in Asia for the services we offer, combining a reputable and all-around experienced aircraft leasing team with a broad dedicated technical backbone. Our first deal with JP Lease being the purchase of aircraft leased to our national carrier KLM is, of course, a cherry on the cake”, added Erik Dahmen, Arena Aviation Capital marketing and sales director.
